Report of the Day 2 of Blindfold |
On the second day of blindfold the sole leader of the tournament Levon Aronian made two draws against Peter Leko and Teimour Radjabov and defeated Wang Hao. 5, 5 out of 7 turned to be enough for the first place in the tournament as the closest rival of Levon at that time Hikaru Nakamura failed to win in the last round against Liren Ding and finished the tournament on the second place. As a result, American player won three silver medals in the Mind Games! Peter Leko had good chances for the medals but lost the last game against American Gata Kamsky. Despite the victory over Hungarian player Gata Kamsky finished behind on tie-break points of Azeri player Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.

Report of the Day 1 of Blindfold |
After the rapid and blitz tournaments the most difficult part of the Mind Games - Blindfold chess has started. For the second time SportAccord chose this special form of chess play where the players do not see the positions of the pieces or touch them. All participants forced to have the mental model of the positions and use the computers to enter the moves. The organizers tried to provide the most comfortable conditions in order to help players not to lose their concentration during the games. It was forbidden for the spectators to enter the playing venue as well as for the photographers to take photos during the games. Four games were played at the first day of the event but it seemed players got really tired in the fourth round and few games finished quite quickly because of blunders.

Two golden medals won by Russians Alexandra Kosteniuk and Sergey Karjakin! On the second day of rapid one of the heroes of the previous day Sergey Karjakin managed to take a sole lead and won the tournament one round before the end. His victory over Bologan became the decisive but he also won the last game against Vassily Ivanchuk to get the gold medal 1,5 points ahead of Hikaru Nakamura, who came second.

Report of the Day 1 of Blitz |
On the first day of blitz all the players chose to play in a very aggressive style and draws were the rare guests in the table. After eight rounds of the tournament three well-known masters in blitz Hikaru Nakamura, Levon Aronian and Sergey Karjakin succeeded to get 6 points out of 8 and took the lead in the tournament. Nakamura has already played against other leaders, so tomorrow one of the most important games will be Aronian – Karjakin (round 13).

Report of the Day 2 of Rapid |
Laurent Fressinet and Kateryna Lahno became the winners of the rapid tournament SportAccord Mind Games in Beijing. In the fifth round of the second day of the rapid French GM Laurent Fressinet defeated the sole leader Hikaru Nakamura to replace his opponent on the top of the table. At the same time Chinese player Liren Ding outplayed Peter Leko and shared the lead with Fressinet. In the sixth round the battle between two leaders finished in a draw but Hikaru Nakamura managed to win against Alexander Grishuk to join Chinese and French players on the top of the table. In the last decisive round Hikaru Nakamura and Laurent Fressinet defeated two Russian GMs Alexander Morozevich and Sergey Karjakin respectively while Liren Ding lost against Alexander Grischuk.
